cCASHh (Climate Change and Adaptation Strategies for Human Health in Europe)
Project Description: cCASHh (Climate Change and Adaptation Strategies for Human Health in Europe) is a project of the Network for Science and Technology for Sustainability. It is an EU-funded project, coordinated by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe. The purpose of the cCASHh project is to enhance the adaptation possibilities of communities to climate-related impacts on human health by identifying the vulnerability to adverse impacts of climate change on human health; reviewing current measures, technologies, policies and barriers to improve the adaptive capacity of human populations to climate change; identifying for European populations the most appropriate measures, technologies and policies, as well as the most effective approaches to implementation, to successfully adapt to climate change; providing estimates of the health benefits of specific strategies or combinations of strategies for adaptation; and estimating the costs and benefits including co-benefits independent of climate change.
